Once they had done the basic visuals for Pumpkin Escape there were only two viable names for the game: the final winner Pumpkin Escape and, of course, the unfortunately rejected, Orange Buttocks Escape. You understand though, that had there not been an Halloween style festivity on the horizon, that Orange Buttocks Escape would have been the clear winner. Obviously [subbed by Buji].
You'll just have to make up your own completely irrelevant description, imagine a screen shot, and link, via some awful pun, to a song on youtube for Icon Room Escape as I just don't have time to do the honors right now (I won't bore you with my 'to do' list, suffice to say I am very busy). BTW - Is it just me, or does this week feel plain weird and there seems to be way to much to do compared to normal? I've had this discussion with a couple of people and no one seems to be having a great week this week for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on what's up, I've had other busy weeks, but they didn't feel weird like this week, I just want it to be over now and get back to normality [subbed by bauerpower, Erika Zeni, Mystery & Stacey]. UPDATE: This post now with added picture. Woohoo :)
I believe the idea of Room Bath is to escape the (bath) room, despite the obvious lack of a door, but the most noticeable, and worrying, thing about the whole game/room is the code locked toilet. What kind of evil minded puzzle setter would consider such a thing? The lesson to us all here is that whilst point'n'click games might be fun, never even consider letting a point'n'click game designer have a say in outfitting your bathroom. At least, not unless you have a really strong bladder and/or super excellent puzzle solving skills... [subbed by anon, Electra, myuhinny & none].
Originally I asked myself why would I want to Escape The Den? To me dens are cozy rooms that house slouchy leather armchairs, drinks decanters concealed in fake book cases, and other cool stuff. But this one is more like a home office, which, as a home worker myself, I can fully understand wanting to escape [subbed by VF99, Doc, Electra & Baruchi].
Use your point'n'click skills in Nekonote - Find The Dwarfs to find the little orange stick men (a.k.a 'the dwarfs') in this Halloween themed collection of cuteness [subbed by Cruzinn & Cyberjar88].
I would normally demand the inclusion of lava lamps and bean bags for a room to even be considered retro, but I'll let Retro Room slide, despite these obvious omissions, since I'm feeling all weekendy and nice today. Think yourself lucky though Retro Room, had this been Monday, and not Saturday I would have been totally on your case. Then you would have been sorry, believe me. I have quite the temper don't you know [subbed by Buji].
Some bad guys have kidnapped you, and are taking you in the back of their truck out to the desert to bury you (er guys... FYI, minimal chance of a ransom being paid if we're buried already). Hence it's time to embark upon a Truck Escape and we only have one minute to get free. Either that or we can spend our last 60 seconds on earth singing the theme from convoy. 10-4 good buddy... [subbed by Markus].
In Escape From The Basement you must try to parachute from a plane cruising at 32,000 feet onto a moving steam train whilst humming the Martian national anthem... well not really, it's slightly more basementy than that... [subbed by Buji].
No updates today as I'm super busy trying to shake off a nasty virus (that's the computer kind, not the sneezy kind). Where do these things come from? I'm up to date with Windows, AV software, firewall and Anti Spyware and I'm ultra careful, and yet still I get infected. I wasn't even doing anything when it struck. Anyway...
Currently both Windows Defender and Norton Internet Security insist that my PC is fine, yet every time I use google all the results are hijacked to direct to other sites, and every time I try to visit Microsoft or Symantec (Norton) to get any kind of useful security update I'm either blocked or redirected elsewhere again. Arrrrgh. I don't even what to know what would happen if I used a site that needed security details/credit card details etc and I can't even think about using my remote connection to my office (so work today consists of searching security bulletin boards and rebooting a PC a gazillion times, which is even less fun than usual since 9 times out of 10 it won't even boot up properly as it's clearly too busy committing evil acts upon it's own operating system and files). Hmmmmm.... *deep breath*. Anyway, so that's what I'm doing today.
UPDATE: So the latest update is that my PC seems to be fixed. Thanks to everyone who posted suggestions in the comments, or emailed with help (especially James). I was going to write up a full story of my experiences hoping that they could help someone else out there with the same problems, but to be honest with you I'm exhausted by the whole thing now and really don't even want to think about viruses, trojans and rootkits. I spent 2.5 long days going thru this. Having a break from the computer after sitting at it constantly for hours and hours on end is kind of appealing. But just a quick summary...
I had problems with Trojan.blusod (kind of annoying) and with Rootkit.Win32.Agent.cku (ultra annoying and pretty scary), despite generally "being careful" and keeping my operating system, firewall and security software up to date (which is the no #1 recommendation to not even having these sorts of issues in the first place).
Once infected very useful tools to sort out the problem (which I'll contine to use) were Malwarebytes' anti-malware and Spybot.
I did however also need a lot of help, and a tool called SDFix, to get completely 'clean'. I suggest a visit to bleepingcomputer.com for this if you find yourself in a similar situation (and I'd probably shy away from running SDFix, as excellent as it is, without the sort of help they can offer).
